Bill Pollock was my Dad’s business partner as this article references. In 1981 Bill invited me to join the company and move from Vancouver to South Africa which was under Apartheid rule at the time. Not yet graduated from business school and too young to have told him I needed to think about it, I turned down the offer of a lifetime. My siblings and I remain family friends but short-sighted legal advice to my Mother after Dad died in 1967 prevented us from having any stake in the International business operations. Bill’s work ethic and adoption of technology are cornerstones of his success.
